Message from the President

Is everyone getting ready for the upcoming season? I know I'm sure looking forward to getting a bead on some ducks and geese. I can't wait.

I would like to get everyone up to speed on what is coming up this year with the SSWA. I'm extremely proud of the creation of the Pocket Reference (Hunters' Bill of Rights). Capt. Otterstedt, Ron Sineo, and other SSWA members did a wonderful job on it.

Our shoots at the Peconic River Sportsmen's Club were great. What a fun time we had (good eatin' too!!!).

We kept meeting with the Long Island Waterfowlers all summer long to keep up-to-date with what's happening in Huntington. So far, it's in the beginning stages of its battle.

For the future: (1) we will have a table at the Tuckerton Show; (2) we have enclosed seven (7) Annual Raffle Tickets to support the 2nd phase of the AI McCormick project (see page 3); (3) the Duckboat Show will be a week earlier, October 24, 2004; (4) we will be having another shoot at Peconic-no date yet (you will receive a postcard); (5) we're trying to have an SSW A dinner; (6) hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts should be ready soon.

Come down to the September meeting, TUESDAY, September 7, NOT Monday (due to holiday) to get the season dates and some more raffle tickets to sell.

See you there.

Curt Matzinger
