Quack's Tips
In future issues
of this newsletter, on a trial basis, we are
going to include a column called Quack's Tips.
Hopefully, our fellow members will provide enough
material to share with the rest of us, to keep
this new column going. Many of us learn things
the "hard" way, but from time to time,
we do manage to learn things about our sport. How
many times have you said to yourself, "boy,
if I only knew that before I started. . . ."
Well, here is your chance to share that tip with
the result of us. What kinds of tips are we
looking for? Anything that is a time saver, or a
money saver, would make a good tip. Anything that
will improve the safety of our sport, or anything
that will stop the rest of us from
"re-inventing the wheel" so to speak,
would also be a good tip. If you think you have a
tip you would like to share, you can e-mail it to
ducktruck@optonline.net. There is no guarantee
that it will be published, but we will try to
print as many as we have space for in each issue.

Although there is no prize
to be won for submitting a tip, there is the
satisfaction of seeing your tip in print, and of
course, we will print your name to give you the
credit for submitting that tip. For those of you
who do not like to see your name in print, just
tell us and we will make it an anonymous tip.
Either way, please send in that tip. QUACK'S TIP for this issue:
If you use plastic decoys and the paint jobs are
beginning to fade, you may be able to get one or
two more seasons out of them without repainting
them. Before you store them away for next season,
spray a light coat of WD-40 on them. This will
bring back their colors and they will have a
"wet" look about them (almost shiny).
Don't worry, the WD-40 eventually dries and the
shine fades, but the paint job gets new life
which should last well into next season.
Remember, send in
your tip to:
