The End of an Error? April will be my last month as President of the SSWA. I always felt the error was on me being President because of my limited waterfowling experience. Also an error on the club to keep electing someone who lacked charm or the gift of gab. All kidding aside, the three years were a wonderful time. I got to meet many special people being a representative of the waterfowlers. Over the three years we saw our membership roles stabilize with new faces and some old timers returning. We also had three strong years financially, that enabled us to contribute to many worthy causes. I would like to take credit for all of this, but I can't. It was the hard work of my officers and all our members. I would also like to thank Curt Matzinger for all the effort he put forth. Curt not only was 1st Vice President, but also Newsletter Editor, Membership, and Duckboat Show Chairman. You know the old saying, "Behind every good man is a good woman." Well, Curt is blessed to have Jean, his lovely wife. Jean types our newsletters, flyers, and brochures, and helps with the Duckboat Show by answering many phone calls. My 2nd Vice President, John Hazlett, just got relocated out of state and will be missed by all. Good luck, John! Big Ed Wortmann has been club Secretary for as long as I have been a member of SSWA. When things got out of hand at meetings, I could always count on him to be the voice of reason. Thanks Ed. Thanks to my Treasury Department, Fred Wertz, Bill Groom, and the guy from Brooklyn. Also thanks to the Board of Directors for lining up so many good guests for the monthly meetings. I hope you all support the new President, Curt Matzinger, as much as you did me. So hopefully the last three years were not an Error, but maybe the start of a new Era of growth for the SSWA! Thanks everyone. Past
