Mark it on your calendar - Sunday,
November 3, 2002. That is when the South Shore
Waterfowlers will be holding its 22nd Annual
Duckboat Show and Waterfowl Festival. Again it
will take place at Cedar Beach Marina on Ocean Parkway (directions below).
There will be duckboats competing for Best in
Category and ultimately Best in Show. We usually
have a good number of decoys entered in the
carving contest. Please bring down your boat and
decoys to enter in the competition. We have a
Sporting Clays Shoot - shooting out of a duck
blind for bragging rights of top shooter. We have
loads of vendors selling different kinds of
goods, both duck hunting related as well as other
non-hunting related goods. There are many
exhibitors loaded with valuable information on
the environment, law enforcement, and wildlife
management. Our "Partners in
Conservation," Ducks Unlimited, will also be
present to inform everyone on all the great work
they do on Long Island. Raffles for both adults
and kids will be available.
I am
praying for a carbon copy of last year's weather.
It was beautiful and we had a great turnout. I am
asking, no begging, for all our members to come
down to the show to help out for a little while.
It makes for a more enjoyable show for everyone.
So
mark your calendar in ink - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3,
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy the
festival. For more information, or if you are an
interested vendor, call Curt at (631) 661-0379.
